David Ford v Sir Paul Condon (Commissioner Metropolitan Police)

While in custody at Hounslow Police Station I was not allowed any contact with the outside world from approximately 3.00p.m. on Friday 18th Oct to 6.00p.m. on the Sunday when I saw Mr Nigel Dean of the firm of Edward Fail, Bradshaw and Waterson Commercial Road London E1 0LG. Between these times it was alleged that I had made a statement, they also allege that I refused the presence of a solicitor although one was offered. Yet the Police state that I would not sign this statement until my solicitor was present. If this was the case why would I make a statement and not sign and why would I refuse the presence of a solicitor and say I was waiting till mine arrived? Mr Dean informed me that he had been trying to contact me since 5.00p.m. on the Friday but the police had denied that I was there, it was only when he lodged a formal complaint with New Scotland Yard that he was able to contact me. Neither my solicitor nor myself were offered to see my custody records or the statement that I supposedly made. Why were these documents not produced for me to sign in the presence of my solicitor, it is a known fact that my custody record has not been signed by me, and neither had this alleged statement. The question is: who notified the solicitor that I was at the Police station at 5.00 p.m. on Friday 18th October, as to my knowledge the first person to know of my arrest would have been my manageress at 7.00 p.m. on Friday 18th October. The only person that could have known of my arrest apart from the Police is Mark Hughes, the one that got away!
