David Ford v Sir Paul Condon (Commissioner Metropolitan Police)

Robert and Dennis Rother and myself were committed for trial at the Crown Court with no evidence but that of Police statements, as the Police had given my paintings away to Mr Derek Sherborne because it was stated they were too valuable for the Police vaults. The trial was a travesty and an insult to British justice. The Police were allowed a free rein by the Judge and on more than one occasion were proved to be lying, but the Judge did nothing. There was a conspiracy between the Police and Mr Barrymore to Pervert the Course of Justice when they framed Freddie Brazil, but more of that later. The Prosecution gave no indication that there would be a need for my witnesses before the following day so they were not told to attend on this particular day. After the lunchtime recess we got back into court to find that we had to present our defence. My barrister explained that our witnesses were not available and asked for time to get them to court. The Judge would not allow this and would not allow my barrister to present evidence out of turn although this was agreed by the other Defence counsel. The Judge then instructed the jury to find me guilty because I had no defence.

I have since found out that my barrister could have gone to the Queen’s bench on a point of law. I feel that my barrister should have known this and did but failed to perform the duties of his office. I was sentenced to 2 years in prison for a crime of which I am innocent.
