David Ford v Sir Paul Condon (Commissioner Metropolitan Police)
At this point I jump forward a
bit to state that since leaving prison I have
repeatedly ask for my property to be returned but
to no avail. The Police have tried to hide behind
the Police Property Act saying that the
limitation has run out, but the Act clearly
states that the limitation period is 6 years and
I have been trying to reclaim my property well
within this limit. Also the items were returned
to my solicitor within 6 months of my day of
sentence and then taken for an internal Police
investigation
on which there is no time limit.
Sir Paul Condon, Commissioner
of Police for the Metropolis, was not involved in
this case until 2nd February 1993 when he took up
the office of Commissioner. When he took up
office I sent him a fax stating my case in the
hope he might do something to right this
Miscarriage of Justice, he chose to ignore it in
the hope it will go away, it won't. If I get no
joy in this country I will take my case to the
European Court of Human Rights.
Although I have been refused
legal aid until very recently and am living on
£53.00 sick pension I will still keep on
fighting to see justice done. And if certain
officers in the Metropolitan Police think that by
continually harassing me I will give up, they
need to think again. I am continually being
stopped in my car while driving, I have had
Police cameras watching my house on at least 3
occasions and if you think this is just paranoia
I have several witnesses to back up my claims. On
one occasion in December 1995 police broke down
my front door and showed me a search warrant
stating "Stolen Bearer Bonds," not
believed stolen or alleged stolen, but just
stolen. I was then taken to Wimbledon Police
Station and interviewed and charged, the
interview lasted all of 6 minutes. The Police
contacted Interpol about the bonds but still
couldn't prove that they were stolen, I was
released on Police bail while investigations
continued. After 2 months of reporting at the
Police Station I was told that I need not report
anymore and that the Police had finished with me.
